Not sure how I missed this yesterday...guess I was too excited to see the new baby leaf.  

​But check these 2 new roots out...my first thought was possibly a new Orchid spike, but a little too early in the season for this to be happening.

I'm amazed, as always, when I see something new!  ​😲

Sign of tiny leaf emerging...what a beautiful thing to see first thing in the morning!  😊  Repotting in coconut husk mix is certainly agreeing with this Orchid.

Thought I saw a fungus gnat flying around, so I put yellow tag with vaseline smeared on it in pot a few days ago, but caught nothing.  Maybe gnats are finally under control and this was just my imagination!  lol

Ughhh, I can hardly believe it...the fungus gnats LOVE this Orchid, even though I just repotted it July 31st.  During my daily check and some light misting this morning, I saw 2 fungus gnats walking along the inner top edge of the pot! 

The media top is still damp from watering 2 days ago!  I am thinking of making a home-made yellow sticky trap rather than purchasing them on Amazon.  I would love to get some ideas from others who've made their own DIY yellow sticky traps to catch these adult fungus gnats.
